Game Objective

Durak (meaning "fool" in Russian) is a card game where the objective is to get rid of all your cards. The last player with cards in hand is the "durak" (the fool).

Basic Rules

• The Deck: Played with 36 cards (6 through Ace in four suits).
• Trump Suit: One suit is designated as trump, which beats any card of another suit.
• Starting: Each player receives 6 cards. The remaining cards form the talon (draw pile).
• Attacking: The player to the left of the dealer starts by playing a card face-up as an attack.
• Defending: The next player must defend by beating the attack card with a higher card of the same suit or any trump card.
• Continuing: If the defender successfully beats all cards, they dispose of the beaten cards and the next player attacks.
• Failing: If the defender cannot or chooses not to beat a card, they must pick up all the cards on the table and the next player attacks.
• Replenishing: After each round, players draw from the talon to ensure they have 6 cards (until the talon is depleted).

The game continues until all players except one have played all their cards. The remaining player is the "durak" and loses the game.
